EN Certificate for Protective Clothing



BS EN ISO11611:2007 and BS EN ISO11612:2008

 

Specification for Personal Protective Clothing (PPE) designed to protect workers against the effects of heat and flame.

 

BS EN ISO 11612: 2008
Specification for Personal Protective Clothing (PPE) designed to protect workers against the effects of heat and flame.

 

ISO 11612:2008 was published in November 2008 and the older 1998 version withdrawn. Previously the harmonised standard relating to protection against heat and flame is EN 531:1995 and its amendment in 1998. With the harmonisation of the BS EN ISO 11612:2008 standard it has now replaced EN 531.

 


 

BS EN ISO 11611:2007
Specification for Personal Protective Clothing (PPE) for use in welding and allied processes.

 

European standard EN ISO 11611 for welders garments has already replaced EN 470-1. BS EN ISO 11612 (clothing for protection against heat and flame) and EN ISO 14116 (limited flame spread tests and requirements for heat and flame clothing) have replaced EN 531 and EN 533 respectively.

EN471 Hi-Vizibility Standards
Specification for Personal Protective Clothing (PPE) designed to protect workers against the effects of heat and flame.

 

Class 1: Lowest level of protection for minimal risk/off road purposes. Minimum background material 0.14m² and minimum retro reflective material 0.10m².

 

Class 2: Intermediate level of protection for use on low speed roads. Minimum background material 0.50m² and minimum retro reflective material 0.13m².

 

Class 3: Highest level of protection for use in all areas. Minimum background material 0.80m² and minimum retro reflective material 0.20m².
