TIG welding usually needs flexible gloves that allow precise torch and filler-rod control. MIG welding often calls for more insulation and resistance to spatter, so a heavier glove may be appropriate. Choose by the actual exposure and tested performance; a MIG or TIG product name alone is not a complete specification.

Look for welding gloves with coverage and thermal performance suited to the heat and spatter involved. Lining, cuff length and fit matter as well as leather construction. EN 12477 Type A gloves are commonly considered for general welding, but the selected model’s ratings and instructions must match the task.

Confirm the Type A or Type B classification, approved sizes and performance markings. The EN 12477 reference by itself does not prove that every model in a supplier’s range is covered.
