A welding helmet combines face coverage with a welding filter for protection against arc radiation and spatter. Welding goggles provide eye protection for suitable gas welding, oxygen cutting and brazing tasks when fitted with the correct filter shade. They do not replace a welding helmet for arc welding. Wear appropriate safety glasses beneath a welding helmet, and select all protection for the hazards of the job.
